Keto? Tried it. Vegan? Been there. Intermittent fasting, HIIT, CrossFit, Zumba, Yoga, low carb, low fat, no carb, full-fat-butter-in-your-coffee nonsense? Yup—we've done it all.
And honestly? Most of it was a colossal waste of time, money, and muscle soreness.
We built ARISE because we were sick of the garbage advice, the recycled bro-science, and the glorified Instagram workouts designed more for views than actual effectiveness.

Let’s get one thing straight:
The fitness and wellness industry is barely 40 years old. That’s younger than most of our clients. And it shows. Unlike doctors, lawyers, or engineers, there’s no legitimate governing body for fitness professionals. No standardized board. No rigorous licensing. Just a bunch of weekend workshops and a fancy piece of paper no harder than high school science.
That’s right—your average “certified trainer" could’ve flunked high school and still gotten their qualifications between brunch and Netflix.

Statistically, nearly everyone who starts working out just mimics what they see online or what their gym bro friend is doing. And yet, walk into any gym and you'll see 90% of people looking exactly the same as they did a year ago—just sweatier and more frustrated.

Coming from a background in science and engineering, we turned to real evidence —science.

Coach Khor founded ARISE to empower busy, successful professionals to achieve their fitness goals without sacrificing their precious time or lifestyle. Our mission is simple: get you fit! Physically, mentally, functionally, and sustainably, without spending more than a couple hours a week, all while enjoying the foods you love, in moderation of course.
With over 8 years of experience as a personal trainer, fitness content creator/writer, and fitness educator working in two of the biggest personal training companies in Malaysia, Move Private Fitness and KD Trainer - Khor understands the unique challenges faced by high-performing executives, business owners, and burnt out parents.
Prioritizing your health and fitness doesn't have to take up all your time and energy, and it shouldn't. After all, you have other things that matter too.
Khor has worked with countless clients who once thought a fit and healthy lifestyle was out of reach due to their demanding schedules. Through a streamlined training and nutrition approach using science-based principles, he has helped them reclaim their time, boost their energy, and transform their bodies—all in an efficient and enjoyable way.

Tia Li
This devoted ex-piano teacher has been inspiring people to pursue the great and the impossible since before she touched a barbell.
These days she plays the piano only when there's time to spare, otherwise she is occupied in supporting others to gain the strength and confidence they never knew they had. She finds great fulfillment and satisfaction in coaching people, seeing their faces light up every time they achieve a breakthrough is priceless!
PRINCIPLES, NOT PROCESS
In her younger years, she has trained under many sports like running, karate, and hockey. She realized that in every instance of success, there is a pattern - consistency and commitment.
As a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach and highly experienced powerlifter, coach Tia has helped many clients to improve their nutrition, fitness, and mindset. In a world where every week new fitness trends emerges, coach Tia strives to cut through the "trends" and focus on what works. And what works is almost always the basics - good nutrition and progressive strength training!
She believes if you apply the right principles daily without expectation of instant gratification, instead looking for hacks to rush the process, then you’ll find fulfillment in your own well-being and build truly life-changing habits!
